You Are For Me
by Kari Jobe

"Come and listen, all you who fear God;
let me tell you what he has done for me.
I cried out to him with my mouth;
his praise was on my tongue." (Psalm 66:16-17)

This was pointed out to me tonight and I was so moved by it, I had to share.

After His baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on Him.  And a voice from heaven said, "This is My dearly loved Son, who brings Me great joy."   - Matthew 3:16-17

Never At Home [userpic]
Prayer for Our Nation and World Events
by Never At Home (never_at_home)
at December 4th, 2008 (10:35 am)

This is a similar post to brdwaybebe's Praying for Those in Authority.

Precept Ministries has information on starting a Corporate Prayer program suggested for every Thursday at noon. It is taking its example from the Fulton Street Revival of 1857. You can read about it at their website: Prayer for Our Nation.

Although brought up as something to do during the US election process, the prayers still are needed even after the votes have been cast. There are still major issues concerning the President-elect's status as a "natural-born citizen" (required by the Constitution for a President) that have been raised to be heard even before the Supreme Court (Obama has refused to prove his citizenship). We are headed for a Constitutional crisis if the issue is not laid to rest. There are several states which have actions against their secretaries of state to not permit the electoral college votes for Obama from their respective states until his US citizenship has been proven - California with its 55 votes is on top of this list.

I've been following this development for a while from wnd_news (World News Daily - a conservative-right Christian news service). I should warn you that the subject of most of the posts on that site can sadden and shock you (one concerns a perversion of the Holy Bible). Be warned that it is very anti-liberal-left (obviously), but it does report some news that you'll never see in mainstream press, which is known to be liberal-left in their reporting.

If you don't live in the USA, just substitute your own country -- indeed for the entire world, since it is in great turmoil. And speaking of the world, I've been following Joel Rosenberg's blog rosenbergfd concerning the Middle East, Jerusalem, and Israel, and how the events are setting up Ezekiel 38-39 prophecies (the War of Gog and Magog involving a Russia-Iran-led coalition of Islamic Jihadist states against Israel). It is very politically oriented, but certainly something to investigate if you're interested in seeing God's plan in action. Visit Rosenberg's website (I've read his book Epicenter and am starting a study based on its Study Guide) for more information about how his five-book fictional series turned out to be prophetic itself when he applied a what-if scenario concerning the Biblical prophecies and modern political alignments. It will really make you think.

 Did you know that nothing shocks God off the thrown?

God does not watch CNN's election coverage. Last night he wasn’t biting his nails or holding his breath waiting to see what would happen. He knew from the beginning of the world what would be happening at this moment. He has plans and purposes for every second of every hour, every action, every amendment...good or bad. God has a way to work everything out for the good. And that makes every moment good. Because there is something good that can come from every moment.

1Titus 2:1-2

I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity.

Paul gave the above instructions to Titus during the Roman reign around 2000 years ago. At this time the roads were lined with crosses and on them hung the bodies of dead and dying Christians. And yet Paul was about the give these instructions.

Sorry for how long the times are in between entries. Real life kinda got in the way of "lesson writing" and I think I religioused myself right out of some great entries because I wanted them to fit a certain mold. So you may see some differences in the entries, some may be organized, some may just be a conversation starter but all of it will be about a God date :) I hope you get as much out of them as I do!
